Let Your Fire Work!

Hey there Wholetonians; I hope you had a great 4th of July!
When I was a kid, I loved fireworks, as most kids do. But sometimes, as we get older and get caught up in the minutia, we lose a little of that excitement and anticipation for the big display. There might be a little something that fireworks can teach us about life and faith.
Fireworks would not be all that impressive if done in the daylight. Because there is so much light and visible distraction, they would probably just look like a lot of smoke accompanied by loud noise. But set against the dark night sky, they are brilliant, colorful, and captivating!
Sometimes when things are moving along smoothly, our eyes and minds distracted by the busy-ness going on around us, we forget to pause and appreciate the wonder of all the beauty and blessings around us. At times it takes the “Boom!” of a life event to get us to pause and look up, to appreciate and take in the artistry and colors that stand in bright contrast to the dark times we may be going through.
Of course during the Fourth of July fireworks you would have seen a lot of red, white and blue—which, in the context of our nation’s birthday and independence celebration, stands for our liberty and freedom.
Here’s some additional symbolism you may have missed as you watched fireworks: Red = Love and Redemption, White = Purity, Holiness, Blue = Authority, Gold = Refinement,Purple = Majesty, ●Fuschia = Joy, Green = Life, Healing.
If we look with eyes of faith, we can observe the character of God on display for all to see through these vibrant colors!
Let it be a reminder to let YOUR light shine so others can “ooh” & “aah” at the goodness of God! These “fireworks” in our lives that light up the darkest of nights for others to see are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
“Let your light so shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” ~ Matthew 5:16
So let your boldness be the spark that lights up the world!
