April Showers Bring May Flowers

Tuesday blessings Wholetonians,
My friends, I am believing that by the time you open this email, things will start looking up for you. Many of you (myself included) went through a rough patch in April. In fact, I was quite ill with a bizarre bacterial issue that may have started with food poisoning. But when May came around, I suddenly recovered!
Storms in life are inevitable. They are often an inconvenience, an interruption, and generally, incomprehensible. However, without storms, we wouldn’t appreciate clear skies. And without rain, nothing would grow.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NIV
“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
There is an old saying I really like… “what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.” It is true, whether it's weight training where your muscles grow through repetitive training, or surviving a tough challenge against impossible odds. When you become an overcomer, you will be less likely to underestimate yourself in the future. Another word for “overcomer” is “victor”…or one who is victorious!
So you see, the title of today’s musing is probably hitting the “bulls eye” with many of you. Sometimes we can only discover what we are truly made of when we are challenged.
1 Peter 4:12
“Beloved, do not be amazed and bewildered at the fiery ordeal which is taking place to test your quality, as though something strange (unusual and alien to you and your position) were befalling you.”
Often we tend to view trials as judgment, or retribution, when in actuality they are opportunities to become stronger, more resilient, and empowered.
Over the last four years, you have not only encouraged and prayed for me, you have helped me and others by sharing Wholetones with people around the world. It was therefore very important to me to shed some light on why, at times, good people experience hard times.
The answer is…trials bring the best out of good people, and the worst out of those whose hearts are dark. Dear friend, no matter what storms you endured in April, May will bring a harvest of blessings your way.
“To show that you are the children of your Father Who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike].”
When you walk through a garden after a thunderstorm, you will notice the tight bud only receives dew, whereas the blossom holds the rain like a cup. I am believing that you will blossom and thrive this month. Truly, the best is yet to come!
And don’t forget to watch for a VERY special email regarding “528 (5/28) Day!” As always, you’ll get the insider info before anyone else gets wind of it! Until next time…
